Welcome to the web site of Radio Starlion, which broadcasts a varied mix of music programmes, news, information, features and sport, 24 hours a day, to the patients of Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, England.

Radio Starlion was founded by the Stockport Lions Club, the local branch of the largest community service organisation in the world and I thank the Lions Club members for their continued encouragement.

I also thank all our volunteers for their hard work in maintaining our service and the managers, administrators and staff of the hospital for their support and encouragement.

The hospital is equipped with 'Hospedia' (www.hospedia.co.uk), a system which provides radio, television, telephone and interactive services to every bed and we are delighted that our service is included in the package. I personally thank the Hospedia team and the hospital's communications department for maintaining Radio Starlion's connection to this system, enabling us to reach every corner of the hospital in high-quality stereo.
