Welcome to the web site of Radio Starlion, which broadcasts a varied mix of music programmes, news, information, features and sport, 24 hours a day, to the patients of Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, England.

Radio Starlion was founded by the Stockport Lions Club (www.stockportlionsclub.org.uk), the local branch of the largest community service organisation in the world and I thank the Lions Club members for their continued sponsorship.

I also thank all our volunteers for their hard work in maintaining our service and the managers, administrators and staff of the hospital for their support and encouragement.

The hospital is now equipped with Patientline (www.patientline.co.uk), a system which provides radio, television, telephone and interactive services to every bed and we are delighted that our service is included in the package. I personally thank the Patientline team and the hospital's communications department for the work they have done to connect Radio Starlion to this new system, enabling us to reach every corner of the hospital in high-quality, stereo.
