Folk Connections
Thursdays at 8pm

Jeanette Howlett "Folk, Folk-Rock and Acoustic Music Tracks with Jeanette Howlett"
Tell people you're doing a folk programme and you've probably already lost most of them! Blur the edges a little and you might keep a few. That's my hope! Folk Connections offers each potential listener the chance to hear something they may not have automatically connected with folk, something they know and, especially, something they like.
So, within my shows you will hear tracks by: The Oyster Band, The Byrds, Ewan MacColl, Kirsty MacColl, Billy Bragg, The Pogues, Led Zeppelin, Pete Seeger, Peggy Seeger, Roy Harper, Bert Jansch, Joni Mitchell, Shirley Collins, Fairport Convention, Tom Paxton, Vashti Bunyan, Dr Strangely Strange, Kate Rusby, John Martyn, Nick Drake ... and many more besides.
I'm not a folk purist - I love the blends, the collaborations ... the links. Besides, if I weren't sharing this with you, I'd still be doing it for my own amusement anyway!
So join me, won't you, as I journey through the realms of folk, folk-rock, folk-blues, alt country, acoustic music ... and you may just hear something you like."
