Chadkirk Chapel

Hope Valley Folk Train

Live music on board and over lunch at the Little John, Hathersage. The performers and the music played will vary from one event to the next, ranging from folk to bluegrass, cajun to country and more besides...

Hat Works Museum

Award-winning visitor attraction...

The UK’s only museum dedicated solely to the hatting industry, hats and headwear - housed in a restored Grade ll listed Victorian Mill, which was once a thriving hat factory. Hat Works focuses on the development of hatting, from its humble beginnings as a cottage industry to the mass production of the early 19th century. Live demonstrations of working machinery combined with an extensive collection of hats and stimulating audio-visual shows create an experience, which is thought provoking, educational and fun

Lyme Park

Plenty of interest for all ages...

From open air theatre and live music to kite flying, bat walks and special interest tours and trails. Current attractions include an exhibition of 16 original watercolours by Beatrix Potter - rarely seen and specially selected with a winter/Christmas theme. Also on show will be the original manuscript of The Tailor of Gloucester.

Staircase House

Medieval town house... steeped in history

Staircase House is set in the heart of Stockport’s historic market place and boasts an intriguing array of rooms linked by corridors and narrow passages. All the rooms have been restored using period colours, furniture and artefacts which reflect its long and eventful history. The bedroom boasts a 17th Century four poster bed... there’s a 200-year-old table in the dining room, Rumours abound of ghostly goings-on and the house is allegedly haunted by the ghost of Robert Owen, former butler to the Shallcross family

Stockport Air Raid Shelters

Surviving the Blitz

Come and experience life as it was during a 'black out' in war torn Britain. A labyrinth of tunnels under part of the town centre provided shelter, and a way of life, for families from Stockport and round about, through the dark days of the Blitz during the Second World War
